Applied as a topical appliaction, FerAppease can be used on healthy cattle when any routine on-farm task can raise stress levels.

How to use? 

FerAppease is applied topically to the skin above the muzzle and in the divot behind the poll where it is then inhaled by the vomeronasal organ, leading to the desensitization of areas of the brain that are responsible for sending signals to the adrenal glands where cortisol is produced, blocking cortisol, thus mitigating stress. The response has been shown within 30 minutes of application and lasts at least 14 days.

What is it for ?

Maternal Bovine Appeasing Substance (mBAS) is a naturally occurring pheromone that is secreted by the skin of the mammary gland of lactating animals and functions to reduce the impact of stress and the production of cortisol, also known as the stress hormone.

The active ingredient of FerAppease is a synthetic analogue of the mBAS, specifically created to mitigate stress in healthy calves and adult cattle.

FerAppease is widely used in US dairy and beef production systems with over 15 million doses sold in the last 12 months.
